Shooting Disciplines
At NDDRA, we celebrate and promote precision shooting sports under the guidance of NRAI & ISSF norms. Our competitive events are categorized into three primary disciplines — Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun. Each discipline is crafted to test the shooter’s accuracy, control, technique, and dedication. Whether you’re an amateur or a professional, understanding these formats is the first step in mastering the sport.
Pistol Shooting Events
Pistol shooting involves short-distance accuracy using small-caliber firearms like .177, .22, or .32 caliber pistols. Events in this category challenge both timing and target precision across various formats, each suited for men, women, or juniors. Athletes compete in controlled environments ranging from 10m to 50m.
Rifle Shooting Events
Rifle events require extreme precision and consistency. Shooters aim at targets from 10m to 300m, often in standing, kneeling, and prone positions. These events are technical and physically demanding, involving highly accurate .177 to .308 caliber rifles.
Shotgun Shooting Events
Shotgun events focus on hitting fast-moving clay targets with 12-bore shotguns. Athletes rotate between multiple stations and fire at targets launched from various directions. Speed, accuracy, and rhythm are vital to succeed.
